Sunday, the end of the week? In the good ol days, after a night playing in Hollywood "The Gang" would meet at a local High School and play softball. All the guys and gals from the bands like No Sugar, Highrise, Control, their groupies would meet up and try to play through their hangovers. What a day, a bunch longhaired rockers in "Magnum PI" shorts. Now there's a visual!. What can I say? it was the 80's.
NOW! almost thirty years later, things have changed (and stayed the same). Some of us moved away, got married, had kids, and grew up. But for the record; I may have gotten older, but I STILL have not grown up.
Now my Sundays are spent on "HoneyDo" lists, and sitting on the couch watching movies. I still spend my weekends hanging out at live venues like Club Red, The Blooze Bar, and The Marque Theater, hanging out with new friends. But can't seem to get the energy to get up and play ball on Sunday. However if I did, I'm sure I would barely be able to walk on Monday.
The one thing I am most impressed with is, that "The Old Gang" is STILL very tight. And after thirty years, that's impressive. Even going as far as helping out one of their dear friends Tim "Flap" Taylor. who is working through cancer. Kudos to all of you back home, and have a great time at FlapFest 2 this Saturday.
